Clinical Faculty

Dr. Marc B. Ackerman holds the rank of Associate Professor. He is the recipient of Dewell Award given to the best paper in the Am J Orthod. Currently, he serves as the President of UPenn dental school Alumni Board. He publishes and lectures extensively. His principal research interests are facial and smile esthetics. He practices in Bryn Mawr, PA.

 

 

 

Dr. Richard Albright (Temple Ortho -1970) is a Clinical Professor. In his career he had held many distinguished posts including, president of Angle Society North Atlantic component, President of MASO, Chairman of AAO Council of Communications, to name a few. He is a recipient of Devlin Award for his services in MASO. He practices in Lancaster, PA.

 

 

 
Dr. Robert Bray is the AAO Trustee from MASO. He is a member of the Angle Society, past-President of MASO, and a recipient of Devlin Award from MASO. His strong suit is to lecture on practice management nationally. His philanthropic activities span his entire career. He practices in Brigantine, NJ.

 

 

 
Dr. Mark Mele (Temple Ortho 1992) teaches the Tip-Edge technique. He is also the Secretary Treasurer of the Greater Philadelphia Society of Orthodontists GPSO since 1997. Dr. Mele maintains a private practice in Glenside, PA.

 

 

 
Dr. Ali Husain (Temple Ortho 1997) serves as a delegate from MASO to AAO. He is the recipient of Kress Award for his research from MASO. He teaches McLaughlin-Bennett technique and linguals. His private practice is located in Newark, DE.

 

 

 
Dr. Gerald Jacobson teaches the Broussard technique. His seminars are the foundation of orthodontic biomechanics. He is the past-President of Greater Philadelphia Society of Orthodontists, and he serves on the Temple School of Dentistry Alumni Board. He practices in Cherry Hill, NJ.

 

 

 
Dr. Hyun-Duck Nah has her primary appointment in the Department of Plastic Surgery of Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where she is the Director of Craniofacial Research. She brought miniscrew implants to the graduate program. Each resident carries 2-3 implant cases under her tutelage. She also serves on the Council of Scientific Affairs of AAO and on the PARC committee of AAOF. Her part-time private practice is located in Newtown Square, PA.

 

 

 
Dr. Elizabeth Spannhake is the immediate past-President of MASO. Currently, she is a member of the Council on membership of AAO. Earlier she held the position of the President Maryland State Society of Orthodontists. She is also a research consultant for the Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health. Dr. Spannhake is in private practice in Mount Airy, MD.

 

 

 
Dr. G. Robert Van Sciver (Temple Ortho 1971) is actively involved in New Jersey and in MASO throughout his career. He brings a traditional element to the graduate program. Dr. VanSciver is a recipient of the Devlin Award from MASO. He retired from his own private practice in Mt. Holy, NJ.

 

 

 
Dr. William Viechnicki (Temple Ortho 1971) holds the rank of Clinical Professor and is one of the longest serving-attendings in the graduate program. He served as the Chairman of the Council on Information Technology of AAO and Council on Orthodontic Practice of AAO. He practices in East Stroudsburg, PA.
